The trip was absolutely, fantastically, unrealistically, flippin, awesomely, great and by far the best kiting trip I have ever been on.  Over the four days we were there we had good wind everyday.  We did two downwinders on the Southerly to Malongane, then kited Malongane with both days having clean wind in the bay, the second day excellently SE and amazing with good waves to smack.

Philipp, Bruce and Beeenie at Malongane

Then a downwinder from just past Mamoli to Ponta was had by some of the guys with two days of epic Ponta.  Ponta is presently extra special as a sandbar has formed into the middle of the bay coming off the headland which is delivering this dead flat inside section, perfect for handlepasses and other technical challenges.  I highly recommend going there now while it is still around, but of course the is still and endless bounty of waves and pools in the rest of the bay.  Get the tides right and you are king.

Thanks to everyone for this epic.  Craig we are all sorry you missed it and I love your Malongane, we had chickens, prawns and the rum was sweet as ever.

@ Kingsley.    That is farking impressive!!   I dont think I have ever seen a 2 wheel drive at Malongane.   Hope you had good wind?

@ Bruno we took the two wheel drive Toyota Avanza, four up, totally overloaded all the way to Malongane.  Not something for the faint hearted.  My father passed on his off road driving skills, this is not a recommended endeavour.

Would love to but it is a long drive for a day trip...

Oh and it is my wedding anniversary on Sunday so I best not go away.   :-)

I think Beenie wants me to drive through the night so that he can wake up at the border.  I don't think he has slept the last few nights, too excited.  I will BBM him later to get a real world time.  I'm thinking to pick him up at 5 then get Philipp just before 6 and you 630.  This means we are on the road at 7 border 11, beach 12.  Mmm maybe Beenie needs to wake up earlier.
