Based right on the doorstep of the world renowned Big Bay, one of South Africa’s premier kitesurfing spots Cape Town is undoubtedly one of the best Kitesurfing locations in the world.

  With years of teaching experience in both beginner and advanced kitesurfing lessons lessons, and adopting and adhering strictly to the IKO (International Kitesurfing Organization) teaching methods, we offer a far more personalised feel to our courses. Student’s safety, lesson quality and advanced teaching methods are all part of our approach to getting you kitesurfing to the best of your ability in the safest and most efficient way possible.

  You will be taught using all the latest Flexifoil, Mutiny or Ozone gear, and we have a fully stocked shop with experienced staff to ensure you have all the equipment and back-up support you need to continue your newfound passion!

 Kitesports Cape Town is located in Eden on the Bay Mall, Big Bay, South Africa, right on the Beach. Big Bay is just 20 minutes North of central Cape Town (kite beach) and is THE Kiting Hub of Southern Africa.

 We run our kitesurfing courses on the wide pristine beaches of Big Bay Beach and also at Langebaan lagoon. We run our kiteboarding lessons seven days a week, 12 months a year - wind and weather dependant. We offer group courses as well, but do not exceed 2 people per instructor.

 Our lessons are structured according to the IKO (International Kiteboarding Organisation) standards.

2 hour Kitesurf Beginner Lesson I (IKO Level 1) 

• Safety theory
• Kite set-up and kite maintenance
• Know the use of safety systems
• Understanding the wind window
• Basic kite flying skills on the beach
• Launch and land the kite
• Packing up kite and lines

Requirements:
No experience needed.
Bring your sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and sporting shoes.
Cost: R495.00 pp

2 hour Kitesurf Beginner Lesson II (IKO Level 1-2) 

• Advanced Kite flying skills on the beach and on the water
• Water re-launch the kite
• Basic downwind body dragging
• Advanced upwind body dragging
• Body dragging with a board
• Possibly trying for a first ride on the board (depends on how you've progressed)

Requirements:
Successfully finished Kitesurf Beginner Lesson I
Need to be able to swim

Bring your sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and sporting shoes.
Cost: R495.00 pp

2 hour Kitesurf Board Lesson IKO (Level 2-3)

• Practice Water starts with board both directions
• Accelerate by edging down and moving the kite
• Stop by edging
• Change directions
• Staying upwind

Requirements:
Successfully Finished Kitesurf Beginner Lesson II
Need to be able to swim

Bring your sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and sporting shoes.
Cost: R495.00 pp

After you have completed the 2 hour kitesurf board lesson you are not yet an experienced kiteboarder but you know all the Do’s and Dont's and are able to practice by yourself to become the next World Champ!
