Kitesurfing, kiteboarding shop & school. Lessons - Durban, PE, J-Bay, Cape Town
Kitesports in association with Xelerator Kiteboarding will be hosting a waveriding clinic aimed at everyone who wants to get into waveriding with a kite or learn more about it. The clinic is for FREE and is meant to be a fun day in the sun and is for riders of all levels – beginners to pro.
This clinic will be for anyone who wishes to learn more about the surf. Whether you want to know how to do your first turns on a wave or want tips on landing you first wave360’s.
The clinic will be a full day of activity starting at 10h00 with Coffee and snacks at the Kitesports Shop in Big Bay from where we then all leave to Swartriet just over an hours drive from Cape Town.
We chose for Swartriet as our location as it is a 600m wide bay with a sandy beach and provides excellent waves and last but not least is un-crowded as it is on a private farm. Intermediate wave sailors can sail on the windward side of the bay where the waves are small and break on a sandy bed. The more advanced rider can ride the main peaks on the other side of the bay.
All riders will be given one-on-one tips and advice to improve their riding and radio helmets are available for 1:1 teaching. You will receive tons of tips and insight which will enable you to go out and further your own unique riding style, knowing that you understand all the basics.
You must bring your own equipment (Twintips ok) and you will have a chance to try out some of the latest gear from Kitesports.
The clinics are for free but booking is essential.

Comment by Kitesports Cape Town on October 14, 2011 at 13:04 Hi Guys,
As most of you have seen already the wind forecast for Swartriet is not that great for this Saturday. Sunday the wind is doubtful and seems only to come through late afternoon, here in Cape Town the forecast looks a lot better.
We have decided to postpone the wave clinic from this weekend to next weekend either Saturday or Sunday depending on the best wind.
As an alternative we decided to do a downwinder from Sunset to Melkbos Sunday afternoon. If you guys are keen we all meet at the Kitesports shop in Big Bay and then organize the downwinder from there.
Let’s hope that we have more luck with Swartriet next weekend.
I am looking forward to see you guys this weekend for the down winder. We will have instructors available to help and provide tips and pointer during the downwinder.
Cheers,
Fred
Comment by Kitesports Cape Town on October 13, 2011 at 16:59 Hi Guys!!
The wind forecast for Saturday doesn't look that great. Sunday's forecast for Swartriet is looking great with S/SE 21 knots. We most likely will reschedule from Saturday to Sunday. Please keep an eye out on http://www.kitesports.co.za/group/cape-town-kitesports for the latest updates.
Everybody that booked already will receive a confirmation by tomorrow afternoon.
